Masks

Two and three dimensional masks are being created in art class.

How have masks show the identies of groups or individuals?

Some cultures believe that wearing elaborate costumes or using special objects will help to achieve a goal. In traditional cultures masks were made to be worn in ceremonial dance usually as part of a more elaborate costume. Students have created masks that reflect their ouwn interests or aspirations.

Paper and Oil Pastel

After Creating two dimensional images, students began working together in paper mache to create basic forms for the individual masks.
